This winter, the demand for Community Support Connection’s essential services—especially Meals on Wheels and transportation for seniors and adults with disabilities—is skyrocketing due to living costs and a harsh winter. Waitlists are growing, and our vulnerable neighbours are facing impossible choices between food, heat, and medicine. We need to act now to ensure no one is left behind.

Imagine a table set for one. It’s in a small apartment, quiet except for the wind whistling outside. The plate on the table has been empty for days because getting to the grocery store is an impossible challenge. The phone rings: it’s Community Support Connections. We have to deliver difficult news: “We’re sorry, but due to high demand, we’ve had to start a waitlist.”
This is the reality for more and more of our neighbours this winter.
At Community Support Connections, we believe no one should have to choose between heating their home and eating a nutritious meal, or miss a doctor’s appointment because they can’t afford a ride to get there.
Last year, with your support, we delivered over 100,000 meals. This year, requests have increased. We are doing everything we can, but we are at a tipping point. Your help today can ensure no senior has to choose between food and medicine.
