GIVING TUESDAY

Invest in the Health of Our Neighbours

This winter, the demand for Community Support Connection’s essential servicesespecially Meals on Wheels and transportation for seniors and adults with disabilitiesis skyrocketing due to living costs and a harsh winter. Waitlists are growing, and our vulnerable neighbours are facing impossible choices between food, heat, and medicine. We need to act now to ensure no one is left behind.
This Giving Tuesday, a vulnerable neighbour is waiting. Your urgent gift can deliver a warm meal, safe ride, and the hope they desperately need right now.

The Empty Plate on the Table: A Giving Tuesday Story of Urgent Need

Imagine a table set for one. It’s in a small apartment, quiet except for the wind whistling outside. The plate on the table has been empty for days because getting to the grocery store is an impossible challenge. The phone rings: it’s Community Support Connections. We have to deliver difficult news: “We’re sorry, but due to high demand, we’ve had to start a waitlist.”

This is the reality for more and more of our neighbours this winter.

At Community Support Connections, we believe no one should have to choose between heating their home and eating a nutritious meal, or miss a doctor’s appointment because they can’t afford a ride to get there.

The Need is Now. The Time to Act is Today.

Last year, with your support, we delivered over 100,000 meals. This year, requests have increased. We are doing everything we can, but we are at a tipping point. Your help today can ensure no senior has to choose between food and medicine.

Your Giving Tuesday gift is a direct response to this situation.

This #GivingTuesday, we are not just asking for a donation. We are asking you to fill that empty plate.

· Your gift of $50 provides three days of hot nourishing meals delivered to their door along with a regular safety check.

· Your gift of $75 ensures the individual can get to their appointments.

· Your gift of $150 provides a full month of comprehensive program support from Community Support Connections, restoring independence and hope.

This is a tangible, immediate way to say, “Neighbour, you are not forgotten. Your community is here for you.” Together, we can ensure that every meal is delivered, and every neighbour knows they are not alone.

Investing in Seniors This Giving Tuesday

We often talk about investing in the future. But what about investing in those who built our present?

Our success is deeply intertwined with the health of Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge. Lately, we’ve seen the data and heard the stories: the demand for senior care and support is at a critical point. Community Support Connections is on the front lines, and we’re facing the possibility of waitlists for essential services.

This isn’t just a social issue; it’s a strategic one. A strong community is an interconnected one, where supporting our elderly neighbours is a cornerstone. This commitment directly fuels the well-being of our workforce, enhances our regional appeal, and reflects the values of a thriving society.

That’s why this #GivingTuesday, our company is making a contribution to Community Support Connections. This is a chance to demonstrate that the business community is a powerful force for good. Let’s use our resources, our influence, and our collective voice to ensure that every senior in our community has the support they need to live with dignity.

This is one of the most important investments we will make all year, not just in charity, but in the very community that allows us to thrive.
