People with various mobility and activity levels, who are interested in maintaining and improving their strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance.


Join our free, live classes, and work on your aerobic, balance, strength, and stretching exercises! Our experienced instructors will guide you through fun, gentle exercises to help you:
- Improve management of chronic conditions
- Increase strength to prevent falls or decrease their severity
- Increase your independence through maintenance of fitness and mobility
- Enhance emotional and social wellbeing
- Improve your mental health
- Contribute to your overall health and wellbeing!

We are currently offering free, live classes on Zoom Monday-Friday:
Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 9:00 a.m.: (1 hour, moderate-high intensity)
Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 10:30 a.m.: (45 minute, moderate-low intensity, seated class available)
Tuesday/Thursday, 1 p.m.: (45 minutes, varying intensity)

- Group classes are offered two to three weekdays each week per site.
- One-on-one sessions are available in-home for those unable to attend group sites.
- Classes are offered in Cambridge, Kitchener, North Dumfries, and Waterloo.
- This is a free service.(45 minute, moderate-low intensity, seated class available
SMART™ Group Exercise Classes SMART™ trained Gentle Exercise facilitator staff lead FREE 45-60 minute group classes two to three days per week, per location in Cambridge, Kitchener, North Dumfries and Waterloo. Classes are also offered virtually. No referral required. This is a free service.
SMART™ In-Home sessions SMART™ trained Gentle Exercise facilitator staff support clients with in-home exercises 2-3 days per week for maximum 6 weeks and transition to group programming virtually or in the community. Referral required.

- Where do I find an exercise or fall prevention class?

- What is the difference between exercise classes and fall prevention classes?
Exercise classes are led by our SMART™(Seniors Maintaining Active Roles Together) trained Gentle Exercise staff. Classes range between 45-60 minutes in various community locations throughout the Region. Our classes are also provided virtually for those who prefer the comforts of their own home. Each class includes a warm-up, aerobic endurance, cool-down, balance, strength and flexibility movements. All classes can be done seated or standing.
Fall prevention sessions include a variety of education topics followed by some exercises with a focus on balance and lower body strength. These classes are delivered by our Registered Kinesiologist 2x/week for 6 weeks or by request. Sessions can be done in-person or virtually.
- How much does it cost to attend an exercise or fall prevention class?
There is no cost to join an exercise or fall prevention class, they are free!
- Do I need to register for a class?
Registration is not required, if you are interested in attending an exercise or fall prevention class please join in on the day(s) and time(s) they are scheduled.
